Thought leadership content that doesn't sound like everyone else's LinkedIn post

Most B2B thought leadership content reads like it was assembled from the same six LinkedIn posts everyone in the category has already written. Same three predictions, same 'here's what nobody's talking about' opener that's usually about something everyone's talking about. Buyers can tell within a paragraph whether someone actually did the work or is paraphrasing a trend report.

When we write thought leadership content for a client, we start by asking what they'd argue with a competitor about over a drink, not what topic ranks well. The strongest pieces we've shipped came from a founder or a VP saying something they actually believe that isn't the safe industry consensus -- a real opinion on why a common approach doesn't work, backed by something specific they've seen.

The B2B thought leadership examples that hold up over time are specific enough that they couldn't have been written about a different company. A generic post about 'the future of ABM' could run under any agency's name. A post about why a specific targeting mistake cost a client three months of pipeline -- that one only makes sense coming from someone who was actually in the room.

What most teams get wrong is optimising for reach before credibility. A piece that gets a thousand likes but says nothing specific does less for pipeline than one that gets fifty comments from the exact ten people in a buying committee who needed to read it. We write for the second outcome first, every time.

Since Yasar and Rahil founded Synctics in 2020, the content that's travelled furthest for our clients has always been the pieces with a genuine, arguable point of view, not the ones optimized purely for algorithm reach. That's the standard we hold every thought leadership piece to before it goes out.
